function

The Carrier is the intersection of form and function. The bag is light, clean, and minimal, designed to carry exactly what you need. No more stiff, bulky, overly designed bags that get in their own way. The Carrier is the perfect home for all the tools you need to make music. An instant classic.

purpose

This bag is made from 100% upcycled post industrial materials. The fabrics are diverted from landfill, saving valuable material, energy, and reducing our reliance on new production. Every fabric component of the bag - shell, lining, binding, thread - is upcycled. The zippers are new, made locally in Los Angeles. This is the future of making - design + transparent sustainability.

It has become obvious that the typical linear modes of production used throughout the 20th century are wasteful and unsustainable. We see the effects of climate change and global warming in our daily lives. When we set out to make a bag, we knew it had to address these issues.

By owning a RE.WRK Carrier bag, you’re helping make the world a more sustainable place to live.

backstory

Our Carrier was originally conceived from a conversation between Dave Elitch and artist/director Justin Hopkins as a multi use drumstick/paintbrush bag. As it turns out, drum sticks and paintbrushes are nowhere near the same size, but that was enough to create the spark for the initial idea. Justin introduced Dave to Jenny Silbert (Rewilder) and together, that spark turned into something never seen before in the drum industry. Many different materials were experimented with throughout the design process. It was finally settled on beer filter cloth from a local industrial brewery for the body, repurposed mailbags for the interior linings, seatbelts for trim, hand dyed climbing rope and high end nickel zippers. The entire bag is handmade in Los Angeles by local craftsman.
